National Poetry Month (Part 4)

Another week down!

Here's what it can look like sometimes when I'm fighting through writer's block.

It was definitely a mix of experiencing life and not stressing about it while taking the time to force something out. Sometimes really good lines/concepts/drafts come from that too. That may not be the case this time but hey, que sera sera.

Still on pace to hit a poem per day for all of April so that's cool. Enjoying the challenge even through the rough patches. I also got tired of looking at my handwriting so it's mostly screenshots this time (and you get a break from my scribbles).

If you'd like to follow these as I'm posting them daily, they're on my Instagram page. The daily is on the story and my progress has its own highlight on my profile. If at any point you have questions about a line or the process or want to throw a prompt my way, feel free to reach out!

Here are the poem titles in order along with the prompts they came from:

4/17: The Avengers.

Write a poem titled "The Avengers".

4/18: Something, Something, Something.

Free write. Was feeling writer's block starting to creep in. So I guess I wrote about it?

4/19: Snowfall.

Free write. Writer's block in full force. BUT that great show, FX's Snowfall, came to an end so I channeled that.

4/20: Won't You?

Free write. More writer's block. Writing through it.

4/21: Spectators And Introverts.

Free write. More writer's block but maybe kicking out of it? Had 2 performances on 4/20, then went to another poetry show before writing this one. In other words: heard a lot of other people's poetry.

4/22: Edgar Allen Hoe.

Free write. Had this title/idea a while ago and finally forced some words out since I was fighting writer's block. I dove into my folder of ideas and landed on this one.

4/23: Drunk Texts.

Free write. I love love and get affectionate when I'm under the influence.
