Week 2 of National Poetry Month was pretty successful.
Still on pace to have one poem per day for the full month (and even wrote another that I didn't post here).
I fully resonated with "Footnote." as well, so that one may turn into a spoken word piece after some drafts.
Again, if you'd like to follow these as I'm posting them daily, they're on my instagram story for those 24 hours. Apologies again for the awful handwriting combined with the iPhone picture of a page. If at any point you have questions of what something may say, feel free to ask!
Here are the poem titles in order along with the prompts they came from:
4/3: Sleep Paralysis, Maybe?
What ideas and feelings keep you up at night? What's it like when you have to wake up in the morning after a night you can't sleep?
4/4: Corrupted File.
Challenge yourself to write a poem that is no more than 25 words.
4/5: Fall Out Boy.
What it's like to always be thinking about someone or something.
4/6: Full Moon Artisans
Free write. Artisans was the word of the day for me after hearing it on a job and that night was a full moon.
4/7: Footnote.
Another free write. I was starting a poetry book, "Promises of Gold" by José Olivarez, and something in the prologue + notes inspired me.
4/8: Can You Keep A Secret?
Magic word to unlock someone's access to something.
4/9: Through The Ticking Glass.
Yet another free write. Felt like writing a haiku.
