My Story

Finding a purpose is part of why we're here.

As you get closer to it, something just clicks.

Like when the moon shifts the tides towards the shores of your mind.

Or when the main character unlocks a new signature move for the next boss fight.

Or a scientist connecting the dots from "clueless" to "eureka".

​

That was NOT me with writing. I hated every project, book report, summary, short story, journal, etc.

I despised my handwriting. Reading was way more enjoyable (and that's probably how writing snuck up on me).

Then the summer of 2007 came. High school was almost in reach 

and I stumbled onto Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" while watching a music video countdown show.

The way he put those verses together entranced me.

Sure, I was around Hip-Hop but that was the first time I was pulled into another world. The first time I sat down and listened objectively. "He's not just writing, he's making words play with each other."

I became the kid that burned through notebooks and wrote for fun.

Over a decade later,

I'm a poet with writing as my passion, my day job, my favorite pastime,

and my primary therapeutic expression.

Each piece I craft has a touch of honesty, vulnerability & compassion that builds a world within those few words.

Hopefully, something I write can bring someone closer to their passion too.
