More love to start the year.
Been feeling off-balance so I'm trying to reset my chakra by writing a lot of love. This one came from some show or movie or tweet (isn't my memory great?) and I enjoyed the idea of describing the color of my eyes. And not just describing them, but doing so in a loving way, especially having a "generic" brown shade.
Enjoy!
What Color Are Your Eyes?
My instinct is to say “brown, just brown.” How terrible of me to describe the portals to my soul as “just” anything. I should be saying my eyes are the color of a strong hickory shelf carved by Jesus himself, as they caress infinity into seconds of contact with yours, and invite you to place the full weight of your problems on them. Gaze into my deep cedar therapist couches, sink into my dark chestnut mattresses, if my eyes are “just” anything they are just a campsite of velvety cinnamon s’mores. Mocha tenderness melting in place as it rests in the hot whites of an angel’s hug. My eyes are not Pandora’s umber chest, they are syrupy copper private jets flying slowly towards sandy paradise. Let me rest our bags in their safe & secure cargo hold. let the flight attendants pour champagne, let the russet seats massage the stress, let my pecan whispers lull your anxiety. When you wake up again, we can plan another expedition and continue to fall in love in the color of your eyes.
