Oh, the weather outside is fright- wait, it's not quite Christmas time yet.
But it sure is getting chilly and hoodies are in reach.
Last month's poem was enjoyable.
Depression is always fun.
But this month's poem is all about that looooove.
Have you ever felt like someone's essence lingers on you when you part ways?
That they're still around even when they're miles away?
And you can't shake it no matter what.
That's one part of love.
The idea for this poem was always rooted in the conventional sense of romanticism but I did play with a couple other angles.
One was how sometimes love can make us clingy and stick to someone's energy.
Or how someone's energy can stick to us and we'd notice it days later from a small look.
Either way, I landed on the passion between a couple and how they never feel apart.
So, this one is called "Glitter." and I hope it makes you feel like loving someone that loves you back.
Enjoy!
November's Poem
Glitter.
I want to make you feel
like love is art.
Crafted by the sure-handed touch
of pure passion.
Paper-mâché goosebumps molded by my lips.
Facial hair working like paintbrush bristles,
placing precious pastels
along the surface of your skin.
Every inch mimicking The Creation of Adam.
Transcendent and vivacious.
Immersed in the colorful collage of our combined minds,
as we clip together shared memories,
as we paste the days into seasons,
as time folds into itself.
Stitch our hands through the moments,
fluttering beside each other
like lovebirds atwitter
at the ceiling of a museum,
and sew bliss
onto our snug quilted hearts.
I want to make you feel
like love is glitter.
When we’re apart,
and glancing at a mirror,
a gleam of light at the right angle
can remind us that
we’re happily still in each other’s life.
As if we’d forget.
